CSP supply complete package for Ruby Bay Bypass
NZTA’s $30 million Ruby Bay Bypass project was completed in October last year, considerably earlier than scheduled. The new 10.7km bypass on SH60 is a more direct route between Motueka and Nelson and realigns SH60 inland away from the Mapua/Ruby Bay townships, resolving the issues caused by the road having multiple speed limits. The new highway improves efficiency and is safer and more reliable – and features a variety of products from CSP.
“Normally during the holiday period there would be at least one accident on the old coastal road,” says Ian Rowland, Area Sales Manager, South Island for CSP. “This past holiday I am glad to report there were none. This was the largest job we have ever supplied in the South Island and includes W-Beam Guardrail, Terminal Ends, Armorwire Rope Barrier plus 21 Oclyte™ Streetlight columns - pretty much all the road safety products the project required.”
Howard Lange, Director of Road Services Ltd explains, “Downer EDI Works appointed our company to install all the road barrier. It was a very large and important project for us and included the installation of 3kms of W-Section Guardrail, 3.3kms of Armorwire Cable Barrier System and 22 X-350 Terminal Ends installed over the 10.7kms of new highway. Over the years we’ve installed a lot of CSP product and once again were more than happy with the service provided by Ian and the team at CSP.”
“The lighting component of this project meant we assisted with the lighting design and installed 21 Oclyte™ Streetlight Columns along the new roadway which incorporated new 120 LEDway LED lamps,” said Bill Ashton, Director of W J Ashton Services Ltd. “These new LED lamps are far more energy efficient and have a much longer lifespan than standard lighting. CSP were good as gold to deal with as always. They are very helpful and onto it with everything.”
