Touch base on what's happening at CSP®
Business climate
Once again Auckland is wearing the brunt of the COVID outbreak with the majority of Omicron cases being recorded in the city. This may of course change but right now Auckland industry is being hit hard with a high number of cases and close contacts forced to stay home. In our case, this has affected our ability to function as we normally would. Unfortunately, our lead times are being pushed out for ‘made to order’ goods. Hopefully, this outbreak passes quickly so we get back to ‘normal’. I do want to thank my team, especially those that at this stage have not been affected, for stepping up to help wherever they can to get products out to our customers. And to those that are affected, we wish them a speedy recovery.
We are still experiencing delays and challenges to the international supply chain. This has meant ongoing cost pressures from both raw material suppliers and shipping lines. Whilst we hope cost pressures have peaked, the prediction is that shipping costs are likely to continue to rise throughout the year. I will keep everyone informed as the year progresses.
Our people
I would like to officially welcome Martin Swart, our new Production Manager, to the team. See the news item in this issue of Road Rave. We also welcome Mark Hall as our new Technical Business Development Manager. You can find out more about Mark in the next issue of Road Rave.
Our offer
In recent months our team has worked hard to deliver products on time to some great projects right across the country, which are now completed. It’s great to see our Oclyte® Streetlight Columns being supplied to Ventia Group for Dunedin City Council, who are being well supported by Chris Silcock in the South Island. We’ll have more on these projects in future issues of Road Rave.
Our ABSORB-M Crash Cushion is now in stock and ready to be despatched quickly. This is a great product from Lindsay Barrier Systems!
We have some exciting products about to launch - keep an eye out for an email in the coming weeks with details of our new sustainability focussed product!
